Teletherapy
At Resilient Kids Child & Family Therapy, we’re committed to making mental health care accessible and flexible for all Delaware residents. Teletherapy allows you or your child to connect with a therapist through a secure video platform, providing the same personalized care as in-person sessions—all from the comfort and privacy of your home or another space where you feel safe and comfortable.
We understand that trying something new can feel daunting, but teletherapy is designed to be simple, effective, and tailored to your needs. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, we’re here to guide you every step of the way
What is Teletherapy?
Teletherapy is live therapy conducted via a secure, confidential video platform, much like using Zoom or FaceTime—but designed specifically to protect your privacy. Through teletherapy, you’ll meet with your therapist in real time to explore challenges, build new skills, and work toward your goals, all from a location where you feel most comfortable.
Research consistently demonstrates that teletherapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and stress. This proven approach ensures you receive high-quality care, no matter where you are in Delaware.

What Do I Need for Teletherapy?
Setting up for teletherapy is simple! Here’s what you’ll need:
-
A device with a camera and microphone: This can be a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.
-
A stable internet connection: A reliable Wi-Fi or cellular connection will ensure your session runs smoothly.
-
A private, quiet space: Choose a location where you feel comfortable and free from distractions.
If you’re new to teletherapy or unsure about the technology, don’t worry! Our team will walk you through the process and make sure you’re set up for success.
Who Can Use Teletherapy?
Teletherapy is available to Delaware residents, including:
-
Individuals living in Delaware full-time.
-
Delaware students attending school or college out of state, as long as their primary residence is in Delaware.
Delaware law requires that teletherapy be provided by therapists licensed in the state. Either the client or the therapist must be physically located in Delaware during the session.
We recommend teletherapy for individuals aged 10 and older who can comfortably engage in a virtual session. For younger children, in-person therapy may be more appropriate to meet their developmental needs.
Why choose Teletherapy?
Teletherapy offers unique benefits that make it an excellent option for many individuals and families:
-
Privacy of Your Own Home: Engage in therapy in a space where you feel most at ease, whether it’s your living room, home office, or any private area you choose.
-
Convenience: No commuting, no waiting rooms—just log in and connect from wherever you are.
-
Comfort: Being in a familiar environment can make it easier to open up and feel supported.
-
Proven to Be Effective: Research consistently shows that teletherapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for addressing a wide range of mental health concerns.
-
Consistency: Life can be unpredictable, but teletherapy helps you keep your appointments, even when traveling, under the weather, or managing a busy schedule.
